About Laurie Ulrich

Laurie was born and raised in the greater Kansas City area and raised her family here. She received her Bachelor’s from UCM in Warrensburg and returned to school at Penn Valley and the Kansas City Art Institute for additional learning.

She worked in the graphic arts industry her entire career, retiring from Hallmark Cards in 2020. In retirement, she has combined her love of art and fiber to become a fiber artist.

She joined the Greater Kansas City Women’s Political Caucus in 2017 and the Lees Summit Democrats in 2018. She has worked to elect pro-choice candidates in every election since. She believes her work on the WIP board will contribute to ensuring women’s reproductive health and the opportunities living in a democracy affords all people.
